Kia ora we're open - bookings no longer required!
With a new rhino calf Nyah out and about, the High Canopy habitat open and a new Australia entranceway, there's plenty of reasons to visit!
Seeing amazing animals is just the beginning. Prepare to explore more than 17 hectares of naturally inspired and award-winning habitats. You’ll come face-to-face with over 135 species including some of the world’s rarest animals and you’ll get to see how our staff go above and beyond – for animals here at the Zoo and in the wild.
Get Zoo Ready
An online ticket is valid for up to three months which means you and your family can get straight in when you arrive, so we always recommend everyone pre-purchase.
Contact tracing and queuing: For health and safety and in line with Government regulations, we must be able to contact trace everyone. Please download the Ministry of Health’s NZ COVID Tracer App and scan in at our entrance on arrival. If you’re unsure how to do this, our staff can help you. If you don’t have a phone, don’t worry! Our lovely staff will have you sign in manually with us.
The best way to keep Aotearoa safe (and the Zoo open!) is to keep on washing your hands regularly, avoid touching your face and, if you are unwell, please stay home and come back when you’re feeling 100%!
