Anzac Day 2024

  Thu 25 Apr 2024 to Thu 25 Apr 2024
Auckland

No community was left untouched

World Wars I and II affected every New Zealander who lived through them.

One out of five Kiwi soldiers who served in WWI didn’t return, and 12,000 died during WWII. The loss of family members, colleagues and friends was felt right across society.
The prevalence of war memorials throughout Aotearoa shows that no community was left untouched.

Commemorative Lighting
Auckland Museum will be illuminated in memorial red every night up to and including Anzac Day to commemorate New Zealand's fallen during service.

We are pleased to welcome you for the public Dawn Service this Thursday 25 April. The Museum will open directly following the Service and will close at 5PM. Tuitui Museum Bistro and Café and 1929 Espresso Bar will be open from 7AM.

• Visit here to see four war memorials in Tāmaki Makaurau that commemorate locals.
